Wow, that’s a lot of animals in one room. Practically an entire zoo on the bed! Okay, let’s get started breaking it down. On the bed there are:
- 2 dogs
- 4 cats
- 1 giraffe
- 5 cows
- 1 duck
Not to mention the three chickens flying over the chair also present in the room. In total, that’s 56 animal legs present in the room in total. That being said, the question isn’t asking how many legs are in the room. It’s asking how many legs are on the floor. Hmmm… have a good think and see if you can figure it out.

Okay now that you’ve thought it over, we’re going to give the big reveal. Let’s see if you came to the same conclusion that we did.

The correct answer is: 10!
What? How did we get eight legs? Well, to start, there are no animal legs on the floor, that’s for sure. They’re all on the bed or flying over the chair. There are, however, eight furniture legs: Four belonging to the bed and four to the chair. Where did the other two come from? Well, you are now in the room, aren’t you? Presumably, you have two legs, so the total is therefore 10.
