Jane Fonda Seen in a Wheelchair at LAX

Jane Fonda is incredibly well-known for her activism, beauty, kind heart, and her acting skills. However, at 85 years old, she’s been spotted using a wheelchair at the LAX airport.

Jane Fonda’s Classy Upbringing

Jnae Fonda, arguably one of the most down-to-earth and humble celebrities of all time, has spent years building a successful career and using her voice to speak out about politics, ethics, and the environment. Born in 1937, the Hollywood star was born the epitome of white privilege. Daughter of actor Henry Fonda, she had all the best opportunities to thrive. Luckily, she did just that but never forgot how truly lucky she is. However, it’s important to note that actress Jane Fonda has not lived a life free of hardships. Her mother committed suicide when Jane was a mere 12 years old. She has since battled both skin and bone cancer.

Recently, she was spotted at the LAX airport in a wheelchair, following her most recent public plea for people to do and be better. She was on her way back from France, where she attended Cannes Film Festival.

Jane Fonda’s Wheelchair Ride

Classy as always, she rode through the airport wearing a tasteful black pantsuit, a light lavender purple sweater, and a white shirt underneath. She topped off her ensemble with a pair of black sunglasses and a mask.

While most people are tired of having to “mask up” every time they go out, wearing them has some major benefits. Particularly, for older generations whose health may be more vulnerable than others. Considering Jane Fonda’s recent cancer battle, it makes complete sense that she would take every precaution.

Jane Fonda Speaks Up

Jane Fonda, 85 years old, is currently facing some backlash for getting involved in yet another controversy. Regarding the current climate crisis, she stated, “It is a tragedy that we have to absolutely stop. We have to arrest and jail those men.

“A mindset that sees things in a hierarchical way. White men are the things that matter and then everything else, at the bottom. “Fonda continued.

As a Hollywood star, Jane Fonda is no stranger to the male-dominated industry and correlates racism with climate change explaining there, “would be no climate crisis if there was no racism. Where would they put the sh*t? They’re not gonna put it in Bel Air. They’ve got to find someplace where poor people or indigenous people or people of color are living.” She continued. Jane Fonda first expressed this sentiment on air of Kelly Clarkson’s talk show but followed up when questioned by a guest at the film festival.

“This is serious. We’ve got about seven, eight years to cut ourselves in half of what we use of fossil fuels, and unfortunately, the people that have the least responsibility for it are hit the hardest. Global South, people on islands, poor people of color.” Jane Fonda disclosed, also sharing, “It’s good for us all to realize, there would be no climate crisis if there was no racism. There would be no climate crisis if there was no patriarchy.”

Remaining Humble

At this time the reason for her wheelchaired ride is unknown, but one can deduce, after such long travels, the cancer survivor was likely exhausted. Alternatively, she’s undergone a series of back, hip, and knee surgeries, which could also be a reason for her wheelchair ride. Either way, Jane Fonda isn’t in denial that her privilege has been part of the reason she’s been able to overcome her physical obstacles and ailments.

Fortunately, just before her 85th birthday, she was announced cancer free. “The best birthday present ever.” She disclosed. “Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission, and I can discontinue chemo.”

Thankful for Her Health

I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way, I am confident that it played a role in the good news. I’m especially happy because while my first 4 chemo treatments were rather easy for me, only a few days of being tired, the last chemo session was rough and lasted two weeks making it hard to accomplish much of anything.” She continues, also acknowledging that she’s lucky enough to have “the best doctors that money can buy.”

Despite the obvious temperature changes and increasingly more intense winters and summers we’ve seen in recent years, some still don’t believe that we are facing an environmental crisis. Furthermore, some people simply don’t care. However, it’s imperative that people learn to come together and work in tandem with other plants and animals in order to preserve our home planet, Earth. According to NASA, the sea level has increased in the last 30 years, and many of our glaciers are depleting.

Additionally, animal species are suffering from all the industrialization and have begun infiltrating urban homes and neighborhoods to find new food sources. Fortunately, Jane Fonda isn’t the only celebrity using her voice and fame to create a path toward greener, cleaner living.
