Jane Fonda makes life-changing announcement

The legendary actress, Jane Fonda, has been battling cancer for the last few years. However, hope is on her side, as she recently announced that her cancer is in remission. Not many can say this, and her fans can now sigh in relief.

Jane Fonda makes a big announcement

Jane Fonda is well known for her role in the popular TV series, “Grace and Frankie.” At the beginning of September, she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. In a blog post she posted on 15th December, she announced the amazing news that her cancer was in remission. She wrote: “Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo. I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate, I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way, and I am confident that it played a role in the good news.”

Her Chemo treatments varied in intensity. She wrote: “I’m especially happy because while my first 4 chemo treatments were rather easy for me, only a few days of being tired, the last chemo session was rough and lasted 2 weeks making it hard to accomplish much of anything. The effects wore off just as I went to D.C. for the first live, in-person Fire Drill Fridays rally.”

Jane Fonda posted about her cancer remission update on her Instagram as well. One of her followers said: “Congratulations Jane! You’re a fighter and you’ll beat this!” Another wrote: “Very happy to hear the news that your cancer is on remission. Love from Canada.”

Luckily, the chemo barely affected Jane Fonda’s humanitarian work

She said she was grateful the chemo had minimal downtime because she had a busy week. Not only had she been attending rallies, but she was busy meeting up with government leaders, all in the name of our climate. “Thank heavens for that because it was a busy week. Besides the rally, I did some lobbying and spoke twice at the Democracy Alliance all in an effort to stop Senator Joe Manchin’s side deal which climate activists call the Dirty Deal,” she wrote.

This deal, called ‘permitting reform,’” she explained. “Seeks to fast-track fossil fuel projects, does great harm to bedrock environmental protections, and curtails the public‘s ability to have input. Basically throwing marginalized communities disproportionately burdened by fossil fuel pollution under the bus.”

Jane Fonda added: “Equally important. This corporate giveaway to the fossil fuel industry is a slap in the face to the record number of young voters and self-identified climate voters who came out in record numbers for the midterms. Democrats courted these voters and should remain accountable to them. No member of Congress can profess to support environmental justice. While supporting Senator Manchin’s and Senator Schumer’s effort to silence any opposition and condemn low-income, largely brown and black communities locked into fossil fuel-created sacrifice zones.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

This type of cancer affects your lymphatic system. According to Mayo Clinic, it causes the white blood cells called lymphocytes to grow at abnormal rates. This results in tumors growing throughout the body. It causes symptoms like: “Swollen lymph nodes in your neck, armpits or groin, abdominal pain or swelling, chest pain, coughing or trouble breathing, persistent fatigue, fever, night sweats, and unexplained weight loss.”
