You’ll never guess what happened after this man caught a little boy beside him staring at his phone?
Unfortunately, it’s quite easy to lose hope in humanity these days. For example, most of us probably know someone who has gone through the unthinkable. Horrible things happen every day for a lot of different reasons, it’s awful and heartbreaking, and it’s also the only thing we tend to see on our television screens. Likewise, I can’t even watch Netflix without the show being dark (and a little twisted).
Meanwhile, while we’re watching television, people are living in nightmares. For example, the Black and Indigenous communities’ horrendous treatment and the tragedies they face every day.
The point I’m trying to make here is that everyone forgets that there are some people out there who are good. I think it’s important to remember that so we continue to smile and believe in humanity. Consequently, that’s why this video is so heartwarming to watch.
What did the man do when he caught the boy staring at his phone?
To begin with, this story takes place on a subway.
A little boy happens to sit beside a man on this subway. The boy soon realizes that the man is playing a game, so the boy starts staring at his phone to watch [1].
For those of you who take public transit, you will most likely agree that interaction with someone you don’t know is quite rare. For instance, when you get on to the train, bus, or subway car, you usually sit down and glue your eyes on whatever smart device you have with you.
However, this little boy staring at his phone is much too young to have his own device to be glued to. Hence, when the man finally noticed the little boy watching him play a game on his phone, he did the unspeakable… he smiled at him [1]!
This subway interaction is about to get a whole lot sweeter!
If the beginning of this subway friendship isn’t enough for you – you’ll be pleased to hear that this man’s act of kindness has just begun.
In like fashion, the man unplugged his earphones from the phone and handed them to the little boy.
Isn’t that just the most wonderful thing you’ve heard happen in a subway since, well… ever!
Most importantly, the boy appreciated this man’s actions. It goes without saying but this was one of the, if not the top moments this boy has had in a subway in his life.
