In 2021, he was again asked by CNN how he could not age like his peers at the premiere of Ghostbusters Afterlife. Paul Rudd had his wits about him then as well as he responded, “I’m open to the possibility of ghosts for sure.” He also took the time to speak about Harold Ramis, the creator of the original franchise- who passed away in 2014. “One of the things that I really felt while filming was his presence and how moving it was to me and how much I kind of missed him and he should be there for this. He was such a great guy, a brilliant, comedic mind.” When other fans asked about his timelessness, he stated, “This is all done with smoke and mirrors. I am a hologram, I’m like the new ABBA concert.”[2]

But what is the reality behind Paul Rudd’s beauty? The answer is quite simple- he takes care of his skin. Paul Rudd’s secret is not magic or any bizarre scientific experiments. In fact, Rudd has been quite vocal about the dangers of spending time under the Sun for too long. In an interview with InStyle, he stated, “I’m not one for tanning. I used to be, back when I was rocking the Depeche Mode look. Honestly, I wear sunscreen not to prevent wrinkles but because I don’t want to get skin cancer.”
While an SPF-30 is definitely one of the best things on the market that could prevent skin cancer, it has also been found to work equally well against the aging process. Arianne Shadi Kourosh, from the American Academy of Dermatology Association, reiterated the sentiment, who explained, “Ultraviolet radiation from the sun and indoor tanning beds not only can increase your risk of skin cancer but also can contribute to skin aging.” [3]
Paul Rudd also spoke about how his role in the MCU led to him gaining a few pounds of muscle and shifting into a completely different lifestyle. “I started training and eating like an athlete: no sugar, no alcohol, just proteins, and vegetables. I really loved it. It was a complete change of life that took me by surprise. I did not think living such a healthy lifestyle would be as fulfilling.”
