Paul Rudd Befriends 12-Year-Old Boy After Classmates Refuse To Sign His Yearbook

Paul Rudd is one of the nicest actors out there. He’s arguably even nicer than Keanu Reeves (ok maybe not). His affable charm makes him quite well-liked by his peers and his audience alike, plus to some, he is rather handsome. And this charm was simply put to use when he decided to befriend a teenager on Facebook. The story is truly heartwarming.

The teenager, Brody Ridder, recently made headlines in his town when no one wanted to sign his yearbook. The Westminster, Colorado native’s story went viral after his mother posted his story on Facebook. Only a few people had signed his yearbook, and one them was a melancholy entry to himself. It said, “Hope you make some more friends! – Brody Ridder”

And this is where Paul Rudd stepped in. Cassandra Cooper, Brody’s mother informed everyone on Instagram that the star of Ant-Man had come across this story and then FaceTimed her son the previous week.

After the call, Rudd also sent the teenager a care package with a note. “It was great talking to you the other day. It’s important to remember that even when life is tough that things get better… There are so many people that love you. And think you’re the coolest kid there is. Me being one of them!” The care package also had an Ant-Man helmet that Rudd personalized, “For my good friend Brody when he takes over the world.”

After Cooper posted the video of their FaceTime on Facebook, their conversation was quite clear for all to hear. Paul Rudd told Brody, “I heard about you. And I’m like, ‘I gotta talk to this kid. Because this kid sounds like my kind of guy- likes chess, likes fencing, likes dinosaurs.’ Am I right?” After receiving the care package, Brody sent him a message back where he stated that Ant-Man was his favorite superhero. Along with Rudd, the entire cast of Dear Evan Hansen went on to invite Brody to check out their Broadway show. They further promised him that they would be signing his yearbook after the show.
