The iconic Home Alone house is up for rent this holiday season, and it’s surprisingly affordable. Spending $25 will get you a night’s accommodation in the themed home, with a special guest as well.
If you’re not familiar with the Home Alone film, here’s a little rundown from IMDB.
It is Christmas time and the McCallister family is preparing for a vacation in Paris, France. But the youngest in the family, Kevin (Macaulay Culkin), got into a scuffle with his older brother Buzz (Devin Ratray) and was sent to his room. The next morning the family rushed to the airport and completely forgot about Kevin, who now has the house all to himself.
IMDB
Hence, the title “Home Alone” because Kevin gets stuck by himself and ends up having wacky adventures. Two burglars attempt to break into the home, but Kevin uses wild booby traps and even a tarantula to scare them away.
So, if you were a fan of the 90s film, or if you still love watching this every holiday season, then this Airbnb is for you.
$25 Per Night and a Guest Host
The Home Alone house is situated in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka. It’s available to rent for one night only on 12th December. As soon as you walk in the door, you will be greeted by a familiar face. Kevin McCallister’s spider-loving older brother Buzz (played by Devin Ratray in the franchise) serves as your host.
“You may not remember me as particularly accommodating,” says Buzz, “but I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.”

According to the Airbnb website, there will be plenty of holiday cheer planned during the stay. Guests will partake in events such as sidestepping boobytraps, drinking Pepsi next to the perfectly trimmed Christmas tree, and more. There’s even a LEGO Ideas Home Alone set you can get and build at home.
All the ‘90s favorites their hearts desire, including plenty of Chicago’s finest pizza and a candlelit dinner of microwavable Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
“We may all be older and wiser now, but we’re never too old for holiday hijinks,” Buzz said. “So this year, spend the holidays not-so-home-alone at my parents’ house.”

If you’re not afraid of spiders, there’s even a meet-and-greet with a tarantula. Chances are, you won’t have to worry about it crawling across your face, however.
Did you know that Home Alone was filmed before CGI was affordable and easily manipulated into films?
The shot where a tarantula crawls across burglar Marv’s face was real. Actor Daniel Stern agreed as long as the scene was done in one take – we hardly blame him. Unsurprisingly, the scream was captured fully on set with no need to dub later.
