If you ever found yourself scrolling through Enrique Iglesias’ Instagram page, you would find a slew of pictures showcasing the picture-perfect family life. However, if you have been an Enrique fan since his early days of fame, you might remember this was not always the case. He and his long-term partner, former pro tennis player, Anna Kournikova, have confused the world with rumors of marriage and divorce. Although, in reality, they never actually tied the knot, their romance seems to have withstood the test of time. Unlike many other couples who have walked the red carpet together.

Anna Kournikova is famous for her tennis skills. Although individually she has not won a title, she was ranked number eighth in the world. On the other hand, Enrique captivated the globe with his lustrous singing voice and dashing good looks. The two first met in 2011 on the set for Enrique’s music video for his song, “Escape“. She played Enrique’s love interest, which resulted in a real-life romance that has lasted 21 years.
The two seemed to be a match made in heaven. In a behind-the-scenes feature, Enrique spoke about Anna and how easy it was to seem so passionate when kissing her on screen. “She’s beautiful, talented, great tennis player” he said. “It doesn’t take a good actor to kiss Anna and try to make it believable.”
Rumors Surrounding Anna and Enrique Iglesias Union
A rumor had circulated in 2004 that a secret wedding had taken place in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The ceremony allegedly saw Anna and Enrique getting married. Although, People magazine was told that was not the truth at all. Enrique did, however, tell People that his relationship with Anna was “the only serious relationship I’ve had in my life.” He added: “The only thing I can say is that, in my opinion, Anna, whether we are together or not, would be an ideal mother.”

Enrique told the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that he and Anna were divorced a few years into their relationship. “We’re divorced. I am single now, but that’s okay,” he said “I don’t mind being alone.” The world was shocked to hear the news. However, Anna gave some relief when she informed People that he was actually joking. They were still very happy in their relationship five years down the line.
Under the Radar
Two decades later, Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova are still happily together. Although it was never clear whether or not they actually got married, in 2017 they welcomed a set of twins to join their union. Before the babies arrived into their lives, their Instagram pages never gave a hint about their romantic life. Anna’s page attested to her relationship with keeping fit, and loving her fur babies. The same dogs were featured on Enrique’s Instagram, along with a myriad of pictures of him singing on stage, and posing with fans.
Even to this day, their page does not exhibit their love life. But, they have now welcomed a third child into the mix. Both Anna and Enrique flood their Instagram profile grids and reels with cute family videos and pictures of the children laughing and playing with their parents.

Happy Together
“It’s not that tough,” said Enrique when speaking in 2011 to Australia’s Today Tonight about keeping their relationship under the radar. “You’ve got to have a sense of humor. [There have been rumors] I’ve been married about 28 times, have kids all over the world. … I think I’ve got twins in Australia, in Perth. Truly, you just laugh at it.”
In short, Enrique explained why he chooses to keep his personal life out of the tabloids. “When I go back home, I want to make sure that whatever goes on in my house,” he said. “It’s just for me and my loved ones that are with me right there. I need that.”
