There are loads of food delivery apps out there, DoorDash being a popular choice. Having your meal delivered to your front door from the comfort of your couch really does sound tempting doesn’t it?
When it comes to drivers, they earn most of their income from tips. A video appeared on TikTok where a DoorDash employee shared what may happen to your food when you decide to not tip in the app.
There are consequences for non tippers says this DoorDash employee
She starts off in her car, right after collecting a DoorDash order, announcing that she’s about to explain the treatment non-tippers receive. Proceeding to pan her camera to the front passenger footrest, she points out two McDonald’s bags.
Showing how they were made at 12:15pm according to the receipt. She then ran through the events that played out when she arrived at McDonald’s to collect them. It turns out that they were waiting for her for quite some time.

Stormy makes sure to get the message across as honestly as possible
“I go to the voice box speaker and I’m like hey I’m here for an order,” the DoorDash delivery driver said, further narrating the person on speaker’s response. “That’s been here for an hour!”
She played coy, replying with “What? you’re lying!” Stormy then rambles on a bit and then pans the camera to her dashboard click and shows everyone it’s now 01:27 pm – more than an hour later.
Stormy then goes on to show us how much she actually made from this DoorDash delivery – a measly $2 per trip! Without a tip, a lot of drivers more than likely passed up on the order, meaning it sat waiting for ages.

Comments rolled in
A fellow DoorDash delivery driver commented that she often sees food waiting at restaurants for collection because there are no tips. She reminded others to always tip to ensure that your orders arrive with speed.
Someone also commented that the person may have wanted to tip with cash when the order arrived. With someone else replying that you should tip upfront on the app so that they actually see it.
Occurring more frequently, with loads of similar instances being documented by a DoorDash delivery driver who posts most of his encounters on his own TikTok.
