‘I always thought they actually cracked an egg’: McDonald’s employee shares how the fast-food chain makes scrambled eggs

A McDonald’s breakfast employee shares with us how various food items are prepared at the fast food chain and a particular video has more attention than most. A viral video on TikTok demonstrates how the scrambled eggs are prepared and the question is whether you would still order this popular breakfast item if you knew it was poured from a box?

A man known as Tizzy Tay has so far raked up 7.4 million views after posting a clip on how McDonald’s makes their breakfast, more specifically the scrambled eggs. His video, captioned “#McDonald’s scrambled eggs are made like this,” has users engaged.

Tizzy also shows viewers how various other McDonald’s breakfast items are made, but the shocker has to be the carton he pulls from the fridge in this demonstration.

Users disgusted by the ‘liquid egg’ McDonald’s breakfast items

TikTok viewers are queasy with comments like “No wonder they taste fake,” to “Mmmm satisfyingly disgusting. Let’s not pretend we didn’t already know this.” Some others remarked that holding a McDonald’s breakfast to such high standards is a waste of one’s time.

“Ofc it’s made like that, it’s McDonald’s, not a fancy 5-star restaurant,” laughed a user. “Yeah I’ll take some egg product with my butter thanks bro,” one joked.

McDonalds offered an interesting writeup on their official website

The official McDonald’s website claims that “liquid real butter” is used in the preparation of most of their egg dishes, stating that “We only use freshly cracked, Grade A egg in our famous Egg McMuffin® sandwich,” continuing “they get their iconic round shape when we cook it on the grill with an ‘egg ring.’ And that’s just the start of your favorite morning sandwich!”

They did mention that some McDonald’s breakfast items included “liquid eggs” such as scrambled eggs, “folded eggs, like the ones on a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit” and “Sausage Burrito Eggs.” “Our breakfast menu items are all made with real eggs,” said the company. “They’re just prepared a little differently for each sandwich.”

When questioned on the authenticity of their McDonald’s breakfast eggs “real,” McDonald’s replied: “Oh, they’re real alright. Across all five styles of eggs we make, you can feel confident knowing they all start with a real egg.”

This peek into the fast food scene came just a month prior to another employee claiming that their extremely popular chicken nuggets were pre-made, frozen and then heated when serving.
