‘Disrespectful’ groom sparks outrage after turning up to his own wedding in a coffin

At most weddings, the moment the bride appears, it’s like those movie moments. Everything stands still for a second while they take in her beautiful dress. However, one bride had her moment overshadowed by her disrespectful groom’s choice of arrival. Rather than keeping with the typical joyful theme of weddings, he chose a rather sombre option. He got his groomsmen to carry him down the aisle in a black coffin.

Disrespectful groom arrives in a coffin

For one couple, friends and family gathered together in an outdoor ceremony to witness their two friends getting married. The day started like any other. Flowers, dresses, bow ties, champagne, you name it. As everyone got themselves seated, they eagerly awaited the arrival of the wedding brigade.

In the modern day, it is not unheard of for the groomsmen to put on a display as the groom makes his appearance. It’s not all about the bride these days. But, the bride’s arrival is still the part that everyone looks forward to. So, when a large car rocked up at the ceremony, everyone looked up, anticipating something dramatic. Although, no one expected what came next.

The labelled “disrespectful’ groom did not get out with his groomsmen. But, they reached into the car and pulled out none other than a coffin. The minds of the guests must have been racing at this point. Thoughts like, wait… is this a funeral? Aren’t e at a wedding? did something happen to the groom? But no, the disrespectful groom just decided to arrive at his wedding in a coffin. As if to say this is the end of life as he knows it.

Doom and groom

One of the guests attending the wedding conveniently took a video of the procession which they posted on their TikTok. It quickly gained a lot of attention, and it has since been viewed 8.9 million times. The video is captioned, “Tell me you’re dramatic without telling me you’re dramatic.” And there is a text overlay at the start o he video which says, “Is this a funeral? No, this is how my friend decided to walk down the aisle.

There are a lot of mixed feelings in the comments, as viewers are confused about whether or not this was a positive choice of arrival or not. It is unclear whether or not the bride appreciated her groom’s decision, as the video stops before we even get a good look at the groom himself. Although, it is safe to say that most people who watched the clip were outraged, and called out the disrespectful groom.

One person commented that they wouldn’t go through with the wedding if their groom did this at their wedding. They wrote: “We would be divorced before we said I do.” Another person played on the caption of the video. They wrote: “Tell me you don’t want to get married without telling me…😂.”

In most weddings, the infectious happiness leaks through the crowd, creating smiles as it spreads. But, one person in the comments pointed out how awkward the guests looked. No one looked particularly excited about the disrespectful groom. “They all were so embarrassed. I’d be embarrassed as well, no offense,” read the comment.

Some saw it in a positive light

Not everyone saw the disrespectful groom as disrespectful. There were some optimists in the comments section who thought the groom was being poetic. As opposed to the doom and gloom that everyone else saw. One person commented: “He was dead and now he’s ALIVE. It’s positive, right?!”

Then another person wrote: “I actually thought this was kinda cute. I interpret it as like ‘I was dead before I met you’ or ‘my life didn’t truly start until I met you.’”
