Photo of woman’s shower item sparks online ‘mystery’

Several social media users have discovered a really usual shower item in the bathroom of an Australian woman. Mina, the Facebook user in question, recently updated a snap to an online group that she is a part of. She believed that others would be able to help her identify what the item was. In her post, she asked, “We moved in recently, and I can’t work out what this is in the shower? Both showers have it- any idea? It slopes down, it doesn’t really hold a soap bar.”

As it turns out, people on the social platform were quite puzzled. Most of them had never seen this item. One user mentioned, “It looks like a soap holder that has been installed upside down, very odd.” Another user also commented, “Yes, I think it’s a soap holder that’s been put in the wrong way.” Now- despite multiple speculations- no specific answer has been found.

Shower Item Bamboozles People On Social Media

Users found out the shower item’s true identity after much research. And the answer is simple- it was a footrest. To be honest, a footrest is quite an important item in the shower- with one wishing that they could shave their legs. While interviewing one of the distributors of this product, the media enterprise found something interesting.[1]

Apparently, these installations were popular at one point in time- but they soon died out. One of the spokespersons for Beaumont Tiles reported, “That looks to me like a ceramic footrest, quite common throughout the 70s- 90s a bit less popular today. They are designed for those shaving their legs to prop their foot on for stability and balance so they don’t slip while shaving.”

After the shower item was discovered and put up on Facebook, social media users were quite amazed. The original poster commented, “Wow, amazing and so random to have!” Another commenter stated, “This was all the rage in the 1990s.” One user found the raunchy humor in the situation. They commented, “It’s here to help you have some fun shower time.”
