This time of year has everyone in jolly spirits. Everyone is eager to get out of the city in some way or the other, but typically to spend time with the family. The only thing is, many families consider their four-legged companions as a member of the family, so traveling without them is difficult. However, one RV park in Australia seems to have found a way to make it possible to travel with your doggos. A picture has been circling through our news feeds, and people are going wild over the genius idea.
RV park that caters to dogs
Dogs are humankind’s best friends… unless you are a cat person. That being said, cats are much easier to look after, especially when it comes to going on holiday. They would far rather be left at home with a cat sitter. On the other hand, dogs need constant attention, and they sorely miss their owners when they leave. The best case scenario would be to find a dog-friendly accommodation that can fit the whole family. But, this is not as easy as it sounds, as holiday-home owners would not like to risk their property being destroyed by a bored dog.

An RV park in Ballarat, Australia, called Windmill Park’s Big4 caravan park, has found the ultimate solution. They have created a dog-friendly section in their facility, for those holidaymakers looking to travel with their fur babies. A picture of a golden retriever sitting in a patch of grass surrounded by a steel fence. The retriever looks quite content with a perimeter to guard, as this is their mission in life. The enclosure is big enough to fit the RV where said dog’s owners sleep. Furthermore, there is ample room for the doggo to run around while the family is relaxing.

A doggy swimming area included
A picture of the retriever sitting in the RV park’s dog-friendly spot has since gone viral, and people are curious whether this is the answer they have been looking for. If the picture isn’t enough to convince you, the fact that there is also a designated swimming area for dogs might do the trick. They have truly thought of everything.

Families considering staying here can appreciate their relaxation time without the worry of finding a pet sitter. Not to mention the extra cost of paying someone to care for your dog. The RV park charges $50 per night for a site with enough power for six people. But, if you have a smaller family, you can choose the $41 per night.
There are many other camping sites all around Australia that offer similar dog-friendly features similar to this one. they include Coral Coast Tourist Park, Carnarvon (Western Australia), Pine Country Caravan Park (South Australia), Riverbend Caravan park (South Australia), Southern Stars Holiday Park (Western Australia), and Tathra Beachside (New South Wales).

DIY dog enclosure
We understand that not everyone can get to the RV park in Australia. After all, it may be on the other side of the planet for you. However, if you are from an area that does not cater to your pets, then you might want to get a portable pet enclosure. Believe it or not, there are many different options out there for you to try. Provided your dog is not a climber, it will keep them safely enclosed and away from other campers.
According to Outdoorsy.com, a portable dog fence gives you peace of mind, and you won’t have to constantly untangle their leashes when they wander around. The ideal fence should be able to fold up, which makes it easy to pack up and take with you. Additionally, it needs to cater to the size of your dog. So, big dogs need more room, and little dogs don’t need as much.
The height and weight of the fence are also very important. Some dogs can jump really high, so you would need to get the right height for a springy pooch. Additionally, if the fence is too lightweight, they might knock it over in order to get to the dog on the other side.
