No Limbs, No Limit, Only Love: Nick and Kanae Vujicic’s Story is a Real Beam of Light for Us All

Love is a powerful force that severely breaks hearts. and also has the ability to bring people together. Alternatively, it also has the ability to bring people together. Nick Vujicic has faced a number of hurdles in his life including being born with a rare condition. However, now he has a beautiful wife and children, and lives his life to the fullest.

Overcoming a Rare Condition

Nick Vujicic was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1982, and is of Serbian descent. His family had no idea, despite having a number of ultrasounds done, that he would be born with any abnormalities. Nick Vujicic was born with no arms or legs. He has a disorder called, Phocomelia. Typically, those with the rare condition, affecting less than 5,000 people annually, have smaller limbs. However, in Nick’s case he was born without limbs, making his condition even more rare. Phocomelia is also known to occasionally cause heart defects.

Despite his family’s unconditional love and support, Nick Vujicic had a rough childhood. He was often bullied in school and among peers. At just 10-year-old, the bullying had worn him down and he attempted to take his own life, by drowning in the bathtub. Fortunately, thanks to the love he has for his family and vice versa, he was unsuccessful and now lives his life to the fullest.

Nick Vujicic Shares His Light

Firstly, he learned to write and to type using the “heel to toe” method. Moreover, Nick Vujicic has learned other essentials like combing his hair, brushing his teeth, answering a phone, and even throwing a ball. When he was 17 and in high school, things began to change for the better, working with his high school’s student council, to hold fundraising events for disability charities.

Nick Vujicic eventually accepted his condition, now he uses it to help others. At the age of 19, he gave his first public speech. He’s now a best-selling author and public speaker. Often, filling stadiums to capacity, he has at times spoken to crowds of more than 100,000 people. Forums have included businesses and churches. Since gaining confidence, he’s traveled to over 50 countries and given more than 3,000 talks.

He shares his challenges and inspires others to go out and fulfill their hopes and dreams. That’s not all. Nick Vujicic is an evangelist, firm in his faith, and founded an international non-profit, in 2005. The organization is, Life Without Limbs. Two years later, in 2007, he moved from Australia to Southern California to take on the role of President of the non- profit, whose mission is to campaign against bullying.

Sharing Life with a Beautiful Wife

Through basking in the glory of life, Nick has learned to paint, swim, and fish. Thirst for life hasn’t stopped there. He has also been skydiving and surfing. The gift he most treasures is his family. Nick is married to a beautiful wife, Kanae, and the couple proudly have 4 kids together. The couple were only together a few months before tying the knot, in 2012. Kanae has stood by her husband’s side, supporting his drive to make the world a brighter place.

Nick Vujicic credits God and his loved ones for having the strength to overcome his obstacles, love life, and carry on, sharing his story with others. He has accomplished many things, more than most people could ever hope to do. His story, and the obstacles he’s overcome are an inspiration to all, a reminder that with enough determination and passion, anything is possible.
