This gay couple’s mindblowing first dance at their wedding shocked their guests

In 2018, gay couple Noah and PJ got married. What started out as a traditional first dance quickly shocked the guests with this incredible choreographed number. (1) Check out the video below.

Gay Couple Wows the Crows With Choreographed First Dance

Many people hope to have that perfect, dream-like first dance as a married couple. Noah and PJ, a gay couple who were married in 2018, dreamt even bigger. (1)

With the help of instructors at Nieves Latin Dance Studio in New York and inspired by the movie Ex Machina, they choreographed a routine that took all of their guests by surprise. They start out like any traditional first dance to It’s A Quiet Thing by Morgana King, when a “malfunction” with the music cuts them off early. That’s when things take a very different turn – check out the video below. (1)

The couple first starts out their routine to Conga by Miami Sound Machine and Gloria Estefan. They then transition into Gonna Make You Sweat by C+C Music Factory, followed by Madonna’s Vogue, Get Down Tonight by KC and The Sunshine Band, and then Puttin’ On The Ritz from Young Frankenstein – the Musical. Finally, their grand finale song was none other than (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life from the 1987 film Dirty Dancing, complete with the famous lift and all. (1)

In the video caption, the duo said they quite literally “had the time of their lives” preparing and performing the routine. (1)

It Gets Better

After their first dance video went viral, PJ and Noah decided to use their 15 minutes for good. They shared their story on the It Gets Better Project YouTube channel and started a fundraiser for the program.

It Gets Better is a non-profit organization focused on uplifting, connecting, and helping members of the LGBTQ+ community.  Noah and PJ raised over $64,000 by the time their fundraiser closed. (2)

Though their fundraiser is now closed, you can still donate directly to the organization here.

Where Are They Now?

Since publishing their video in October of 2018, over 5-million people have watched them strut, twirl, leap, and sashay their way around the dance floor and into married life. One of those people was none other than famous singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran.

Sheeran included the couple in his music video for Put It All On Me, which featured couples dancing together from all over the world. (3) Check out the video below:

Noah and PJ are first dance goals and couple goals all wrapped up into one incredibly fun, generous, and talented package. We wish them a long and happy life together full of many more dances both in and out of the spotlight.
