Everyone has a final wish. There is always something someone wants when they are about to relinquish life. And usually, it is not feasible to provide that- however much it might make them happy. But, a woman got her dad his final drink. The woman had to smuggle rum and coke into a hospital where her father was about to take his last breaths.
To ensure that there was a smile on his face, she fed him his favorite beverage. Sure, hospital authorities would be pretty mad. But for a daughter and her father, this would be their most precious moment. As it stands, this viral video spread throughout Australia and the rest of the world, with the daughter’s gesture being appreciated.
The final drink that this daughter syringe-fed her father turned out to be a Bundaberg rum and coke. The woman, Penelope Ann, filmed her and her family sharing a last drink with her dying father. In the footage, Ann was preparing the drink and pushing it through a syringe. “I came prepared for the send-off. Give him a little taste here. We brought you rum, dad. We’re going to put it in a syringe and put it in your mouth.” After this, one could see the daughter pushing the tiny amount of rum into her father’s mouth. Talk about a tearjerker.

Woman Concocted A Delicious Rum and Coke For Her Dying Father
She then asked her dad if the final drink was up to his standards. And after he nodded, she and her mother laughed out loud. This was a sweet moment that was tinged with sadness. The video was captioned, “One last drink with dad before his spirit returned to the universe. Until we cross paths again, old man. I love you.”
It is quite an act of selfless courage that this daughter managed to show. Putting up a brave and happy face in the face of her father’s death, only so her father could have a moment of peace- showed character. And needless to say, every commenter had pretty much the same thing to say.
One commenter mentioned, “I’m a palliative care nurse and this is brilliant. May he rest in peace.” While another user stated, “Rest in peace. That’s an awesome send-off and I hope his wife is doing okay as it is such a hard thing for her to go through. Condolences to all his loved ones.” A third user brought out a heartwarming message, “That is a guy who wanted to celebrate the life he had and so he should do it the way he wanted to. Sleep tight, buddy.”
After her father passed away, Penelope- the creator of the now-famous final drink, utilized the social platform to express her gratitude. She stated that she was grateful for all the encouraging messages that she received. She also mentioned that this 27-second clip was one of the last moments that she and her mother had with her father. As it stands, this video was taken from a much larger video. Penelope disclosed that her father passed away due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This disease affected his breathing and led to him being hospitalized frequently for long intervals. “He looked at me and he gave me a nod. And we said we’d be there in the morning, and, well, he wasn’t there to greet us for the sunrise. And that’s okay because he was always an early riser. I expected nothing less.”
