Airline Passenger Says He Wanted To Slap Man Who Refused To Switch Seats So He Could Sit By His Wife

An airline passenger saw red after he was unable to book two airline tickets next to each other so that he and his spouse would be able to sit next to each other. And he decided that the best way to deal with that anger would be to get doubly frustrated after another passenger refused to swap their seats for him. Jay Kloss, the passenger in question, and his wife had been seated in the business class section of the Virgin Australia airlines flight but on opposite sides of the plane. Since Jay could not book their seats right next to each other, Jay had to sit in the aisle while Zoe was seated by the window in the same row. For those wondering, there were just eight seats in the business class- and no middle seats for anyone. 

Jay also decided to put up a video on TikTok talking about this incident, where he also asked his followers if he was inappropriate in asking the other airline passenger to switch seats. Jay also mentioned, “I wanted to slap him.” He further explained that despite now being able to book seats next to each other, he was quite confident that he would be able to get the passenger to swap seats with him considering they would end up on the same seat- just on the other side of the plane.

Jay Kloss Talks About How He Was About To Slap An Airline Passenger For Not Switching Seats With Him

He said, “No matter what, me and Zoe are sitting together… WRONG.” When the couple got on the plane, Jay did walk up to the main seating in the aisle seat and asked, “Hey bro, would you mind moving so I can sit with my missus? It’s her birthday. And he just looks at me and doesn’t respond. Then he’s like, ‘No. I won’t. But I’ll sit here,’ referring to Zoe’s window seat.”

However, as Jay went on to explain, Zoe always took the window seat because she got nauseous. Jay stated, “So, he will make us sit on either side of the aisle, just for no reason. It’s the same seat. So anyway, I’m like, ‘Bro, really? You sure you can’t swap seats with us?’ And he just doesn’t respond to me.” Zoe then moved into the seat by the window and asked the airline passenger if there was any problem with him swapping his seat. To this, the passenger said, “Nah, no problem. Just not moving.” 

Jay then put a question up to his followers, “Am I missing something? Can somebody explain to me what the hell is going on here? It’s the same seat, just on a different side of the aisle.” But fortunately, they did end up sitting next to each other- for the person sitting in the seat next to Jay offered to switch with Zoe. The commenters did take the side of Jay, stating that the other airline passenger could have switched his seat with Jay. But there were also others, who believed that Jay should have bought his tickets early so that he could have sat with his wife- without having to depend on any passenger to switch their seats- even if it was his wife’s birthday.
