People Are Divided Over How Much Meat You Should Eat Off Chicken Wings

People are passionate about chicken wings. They’re many people’s favorite game-time snack and bar food. Twitter has revealed that people are not just passionate about chicken wings, but the style in which they eat them. A Twitter user named AirMax95 posted a “chicken wing chart” on Twitter showing the varying degrees of which one can eat the meat off of a chicken wing bone. The internet, of course, were all quick to give their opinions – and pass their judgments. (1)

How Much Meat Do You Eat Off Of Your Chicken Wings?

One day, AIrMaz95 decided to share how much meat he leaves on the bones of his chicken wings via a quick photo chart that he made. The chart showed five chicken wings, each with slightly more meat eaten off of them until the last which was completely clean. He claimed he was around a three and a half. The internet, of course, was quick to chime in with their opinions.

Anything Above A Three Is Bad

Pretty much everyone agreed that anything above a three was just plain poor wing eating. Some said that eating with people like that is annoying but not a deal-breaker. Others, however, said that it was downright disrespectful.

“You ever eat with a 1 and you’re just sitting there annoyed?” said one user.

“Gotta remind myself that they’re mostly good people and this is not the hill to kill a friendship on.” replied another.

Others were definitely more extreme in their disregard for anyone who leaves more than a three on the bone.

“#1 people are definitely serial killers.” one person wrote.

It’s Four Or Bust

That being said, there were just as many people who were firmly against anyone who ate less than a level 4. According to them, wings are too delicious, and leaving any more than that on the bone is simply wasteful.

“Anything less than a four is just disrespectful.” wrote one person.

That being said, there were some who were even more strict with their chicken wing eating. For them, anything less than a five was a waste of your time and of good food.

“I’m a 5 but I guess I’ll give a pass to 4’s. At least there was an attempt. 1-3’s are enemies of the state.” said one.

“It’s 5 or you’re eating like a baby,” said another.

Depends Where They’re Eating

There were also many Twitter users who said the amount of meat they eat off of their chicken wing bones depended on where they are eating. If they’re out, they’ll typically stick more to a four. At home, however, they are fives all day long – no matter how messy it gets.

“4 when I’m out, 5 when I’m at home.” wrote one.

“4 in the streets, 5 in the sheets,” responded another.

Then There Were The Sixes

They were a few people who responded that they weren’t a one, two, three, four, or five – they were off the charts. When a few people responded saying they were a six, AirMax95 had to ask: What the heck is a six?

“The one where the bone is not only cleaned but cracked in numerous places as I suck the marrow out.” clarified one user.

Even Celebrities Chimed In

Famous model, cookbook author, and foodie Chrissy Teigen even weighed in on the debate. She, most definitely, is a five.

“3 is most common,” she wrote. “I’m not mad but I definitely judge you. 4 gets you points, 5 gets you respect.”

She then followed up her original tweet to clarify her feelings about anyone who is less than a three. Not surprisingly, her opinion is very low. Let’s just say that if you are a 1 or a 2, don’t expect to become Tiegen’s best bud anytime soon.

“I don’t invite 1’s or 2’s back to my house,” she said. “Even my daughter knows better.”

What’s your opinion? Where do you fall on the chicken wing scale?
