If you have ever passed through any suburb in America during the hot summer months, you will come across several lemonade stands manned by kids. In fact, there is nothing that comes close to a child eagerly waiting to sell you a nice, cool cup of ice-cold lemonade on a bright sunny day. In some feel good news from September 2022, a child named Landen was selling lemonade and cookies near his home when a cop approached him.

The boy’s grandmother, realizing something interesting would definitely happen now, captured the entire interaction and then put it up on Facebook. The grandmother uploaded, “Just saying we are so quick to put down how BAD we get treated sometimes but I have to say I was blessed by officer J Perez, Ansonia PD.”

As it turned out, Officer Perez from Ansonia Police Department in Connecticut took some time out of his busy schedule to chat with the young guy and asked him about his plans with the money he would earn selling lemonade. The child mentioned that he needed new sneakers for school. The two then wrapped up this really exciting conversation, and the Officer went on his merry way. But, just a few hours later, the officer came back to the lemonade stand, and this time around, he had something for the child- a pair of blue sneakers. Let’s be honest; there was no way on Earth that Landen was not elated to have received that.

Child With Lemonade Stand Gifted New Sneakers By Police Officer

Wendelyn Narvaez mentioned, “He made my baby’s day yesterday and not only that, he made him feel like a king.” A few days later, Narvaez also put up a picture of the child rocking his new sneakers. Wayne Williams, the Ansonia Police Chief then responded to the act of kindness shown by Perez by claiming that these “are the types of officers that we are all looking to hire.”

On her Facebook, the grandmother posted, “Please share. Landen’s face is priceless, thanks to Officer Perez, Ansonia PD. The officer asked Landen what he was selling lemonade for, and Landen answered that he needed blue sneakers for school. Then Officer Perez left and arrived with the blue sneakers, Landen was surprised and couldn’t believe it. But, he said ‘Thanks, Officer Perez’. Great story. Please share.”

Landen had to sell lemonade because his grandmother wouldn’t be able to afford new sneakers on the disability income that she received from the government to take care of her family. But this is when Landen decided to open a stand to pay for his sneakers. Officer Perez did ask for all the details about Landen’s sneakers, the color he wanted them in, and the size of his feet. Interestingly, Wendelyn Narvaez also got a little emotional because her own brother had retired from the police force- and the police force was blamed for almost everything- so it was nice to give credit where credit was due.
