Pilot has best response to woman who ran to try and be first one off the plane at landing

A pilot had a brilliant response to a woman who had gone to the front of the plane in her attempt to be the first person to get down after the flight landed. The pilot’s reaction was so well received that it got a standing ovation later.

We get it, if you’re on a cheap, economy-class seat, no one wants to sit squeezed into a tin can longer than they have to. Nevertheless, you’re not so supposed to get up before the plane stops moving and the seat belt sign is turned off.

So when a passenger decided that she would be the first one off the plane, the pilot just had to give a logical but witty announcement. One could see the amusement reflecting off the pilot- who called her out in the best way possible. This was posted on Reddit a year ago, where someone else on the flight stated that they had all been on board when this woman from the back “unbuckled, and darted to the front of the planet to get off first” just after they had landed. A little decorum, please?

Pilot Applauded For Herding Woman Back Into Her Seat

The Reddit user mentioned, “She did not make any eye contact and felt that she was special. I’m talking about going from the very last seat on the plane, down the whole row and past first class. Basically standing at the little kitchen thing in the front. All this time the seat belt sign was still on and we were still rolling down the runway. The flight crew had asked her to return to her seat until we reached the gate but she was not even responding.

The user maintained that the trip had left everyone with little energy and simply didn’t have the energy to call her out. However, that’s when the official announcement arrived. “Suddenly the captain announced we had a special guest on board and he would be coming out to greet us after we were settled at the gate. The Karen stood there awkwardly until we did the whole, rolling into the gate and whatever planes do when they land for about 15-20 mins.

Needless to say, everyone was quite curious about what the pilot could be talking about. The Redditor continued, “Eventually the captain came out and asked the lady to please move back a little to get to his special guest, then a little more. Then a little more. He was looking from row to row trying to find a specific person. Everyone is watching and looking around to see who it could be.

A Peaceful Conclusion To The Problem

As it turns out, the pilot kept urging the woman to go back a few steps- until she reached her seat that she had left. When he sat her down, he grabbed the intercom and stated, “Ladies and gentlemen I’d like to announce our special guest sitting in seat 42C. Let’s give her a round of applause.” The user mentioned that, at this point, the whole plane erupted in laughter, and they added, “I loved every moment of that.”

Some people on Reddit defended this poor passenger, with one claiming that some people were just not good with flights. “I had to do a brief 35 minute connecting flight last weekend and it was a smooth trip, no turbulence, etc., but I still ended up incredibly nauseous (to the point of sweating), because I get such bad motion sickness. It’s great that it’s ‘literally nothing’ to you, but not everyone has the same easygoing attitude as you when it comes to flying – and that’s ok.” But others didn’t let that woman have an inch. One stated, “I f**ing hate these people.” Another individual commented, “I have a Tshirt that says, ‘Stop standing up when the plane lands.’ People either love it or don’t get it.
