Christmas decorations are one of the brightest things one sees on Christmas eve. While there are certainly some stores that make a killing out of expensive and beautiful decorations, there are also certain families that seem to have a common Christmas tradition- where they use the same decoration every year. When 30-year-old Hannah Cox unveiled her bright pink Nutcracker creation at her home in, Somerset, England, her neighbor wasted no time expressing that they hated it. While her festive spirit is commendable, her neighbors find it abhorrent and think it lowers the entire tone of the estate. Some neighbors have been so aggravated by her display that they haven’t minced their words while speaking to The Sun.
Speaking about the Christmas decorations, one extremely angry neighbor mentioned, “I understand that people want to celebrate Christmas but this is totally over the top. Why can’t people just put up a simple wreath on their door- that would be more in keeping with the neighborhood.” Another neighbor went on to say, “This latest creation is just making the neighborhood a laughing stock.” As it turns out, the gaudy celebrations do cost a pretty buck.
The door decorations change with the seasons for Hannah, who recently spent around 685 pounds on the decorations. The Nutcracker had a price tag of 250 pounds, while the festive arch had a price of 435 pounds- which also took five hours to complete.

Hannah Cox’s Christmas Decorations Are Definitely A Sight
Hannah Cox doesn’t let it bother her. She states that her Christmas decorations are just a way of promoting her own artificial flower business. She stated, “All I’m doing is trying to brighten the estate up and at the same time advertising my business. It’s no different to a painter and decorator having a sign outside his home- although I think that this is a bit more tasteful.”
Over the last year, Hannas has had a Queen of Hearts theme for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, giant pumpkins for Halloween- and the Nutcracker this Christmas. She went on to add, “My door took all day. I have been planning it since February. I started it in the morning and finished it in the evening just before it went dark. It’s so hard to find all the bits I want for it, that’s why it has taken me all year to find what I want. I do this for every seasonal change.”
Hannah also stated that her partner, Ryan Cape, had also accepted the Christmas decorations as a part of his life now. She stated, “When I first did it, he was a bit shocked but now he knows I have to beat it and be better every year. The resident of the house that we are joined to was speechless when he came out to look at it. We don’t think he is a fan. The other side of the house loves it as they look forward to what comes next. I think people just need to lighten up and enjoy it. It’s not as if it’s going to affect the price of their house.”
