We all know someone who’s played the lottery, if not played ourselves. However, very few of us know people who’ve actually won substantial money from playing. Most of the time people win a few bucks or maybe even a hundred. One woman in Delaware actually become a lottery winner, then took some of her winnings to buy another ticket and won another $300,000 on the same day.
Lucky Lottery Winner
A woman from Dover, Delaware won $100,000 from 2 scratch tickets. She has, understandably so, chosen to remain anonymous. Nevertheless, her luck is pretty great. She stopped at a gas station in Newark, and picked up the two tickets, and a few days later picked up her winnings.
According to Delaware Lottery, she picked up her winnings. On her way home, she stopped at another gas station. This time closer to home, in Dover. With the intent to celebrate her winnings, she bought 3 more tickets. She scratched the 3 “SERIOUS MONEY” tickets and found they were equivalent to $300,000. According to Insider, she told Lottery Officials, her, “best friend was the first person I told about winning the $100,000 top prize, and she came with me to claim it. When I scratched the $300,000 winning SERIOUS MONEY ticket later in the day, we just sat there in disbelief. It was absolute insanity.”

The 70-Year-old Lottery winner has decided to take her winnings and put them away for her retirement. She is the second lottery winner in Delaware this year. Earlier this year, Insider reported another lottery winner who had similarly great luck. The 43-year-old man, also a Delaware resident won twice in a 2 week span this past Summer. Helene Keeley is the Acting Director of the Delaware Lottery and stated in a press release, “It’s great to see our players bring home six-figure prizes, and Instant Games continue to surprise and delight players throughout the state.”
Becoming a lottery winner is definitely not going to work for everyone in terms of being able to retire early, to travel the world, or to buy one of those Penthouse Apartments. However, becoming a lottery winner in any capacity can help supplement monthly income, even if it’s just a few bucks in the gas tank. You never know though; anyone could be lucky enough to win big.
