People Are Noticing That Liam Neeson ‘Keeps Making The Same Movie Over And Over’

People are finally catching on to Liam Neeson’s ruse when it comes to acting in movies. Some of them have even started talking about how his roles are the same. One Redditor went on to point out that the actor seemed to be quite an avid fan of the whole “dude hellbent on revenge” role. The Redditor, who goes by the username u/Vonnegut_butt, then went on to post side-by-side images of some of Neeson’s movies.

The collage included scenes from The Marksman, Blacklight, Honest Thief, Memory, Unknown, and The Commuter. They also remarked, “I hate people who say that Liam Neeson keeps making the same movie over and over.” If nothing else, this post did bring up some colorful commentary regarding the actor’s roles.

If one were to check out the poster for all of the above-mentioned movies of Liam Neeson, one would find one very distinct similarity. He has this expression that implies he is two seconds away from committing violence. Also, he holds onto a firearm in most of the posters.

Liam Neeson Has Been Playing The Same Character For Quite A Better Part Of This Decade

Now, let’s take a step back and look at the plot behind the movies. On IMDB, Liam Neeson’s role in Blacklight is that of a “shadowy government agent who specializes in removing operatives whose covers have been exposed.” In The Marksman, Liam Nesson plays the role of Jim Hanson.  Who is Jim Hanson? Well, he is a “retired Marine living on the Mexican border who tries to save a mother and son as they are being hunted by a cartel.

In the plots of Memory, The Commuter, Unknown, and Honest Thief, Liam Neeson is an expert in a distinct field. Furthermore, he has to either bring someone to justice or has to acquit himself after being framed for something. And in all of these movies, Neeson is a consummate action hero. He is armed with a gun, he can kill anywhere from 1 lowly gangster, to the whole cartel by himself. One can hence assume that Neeson is in no hurry to move away from this trope that he has seemed to make his own.

One of the commenters on the post about Liam Neeson’s acting oeuvre went on to state, “He does have a very particular set of skills.” Another commenter went on to add, “I think the real problem is his daughter. She is always being kidnapped. It’s not Neeson.” However, one Redditor did comment on how Neeson did see the humor in his roles. “He even jokes about it himself. He’s said things along the lines of when he was young, he was a boxer, athlete, did manual labor, lived in rough areas, and he couldn’t get action roles but now he’s old, broken down fart, and he’s cast as the tough guy.
