Keanu Reeves has been seen as the ideal partner in many of his fan’s eyes. Many women have swooned in his presence. For some obvious reasons, he remained seemingly unattainable. Recently, he made an appearance with his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant. They were walking hand-in-hand down the red carpet at the 2022 MOCA Gala at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Both have been caught on camera beaming from ear to ear and captured the attention of the internet.

Modern Edition found an interest in knowing who Alexandra grant is. They interviewed her, and found a little bit about her background. As it turns out, that she moved around quite a lot in her childhood. Having lived in Mexico, France, Spain, and finally settling in the US. As a result, she is quite the worldly woman.
“I grew up moving from Mexico to France to Spain to the US. The daughter of an American diplomat and a Scottish geologist,” said Grant. “So, I became a keen observer of what is gained and lost in translation as people, books, and ideas move from culture to culture, context to context.”
Before Alexandra Grant moved from Mexico as a young girl, her parents got divorced. So, she ended up traveling across the globe, and shared many experiences of a few cultures. Something many people never dream of was ingrained in her from the age of 11.
“I grew up in part in Mexico City, Washington, DC, and Paris, moving between languages and cultures.”
She continued: “Los Angeles felt like home from the moment I first arrived in 1995. Especially the diversity of people, idioms, foods, and plants (like jacaranda and bougainvillea).”
Finally, she settled in the US. As a result, she found she loved the lifestyle and the work ethic of the people who live there. “There’s an incredible work ethic here—many people are creative and entrepreneurial,” she said. “Having friends who are working hard practicing their crafts—whether it’s set design, publishing, or acting—is very inspiring.”
She is an accomplished artist
Alexandra Grant is now a well known artist. She is well known for her mixed media creations, where she dabbles with both texts and imagery. In 2007, she had her first solo exhibition at the at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Some of her other solo exhibitions included the Forêt Intérieure/Interior Forest in 2013. And, the ghost town exhibition in 2016, as well as the Born to Love in 2019.
Not only does she do solo exhibitions of her art, but she has done a lot of highly respected collaborations. This includes, Drawn to Language in 2013, Writing After Conceptual Art in 2014, and, These Carnations Defy Language in 2015.
Aside from creating the art, Alexandra grant also worked as a professor at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena from 2009 till 2011. And, among other things, she mentored for the Pacific Northwest College of Art’s Distance MFA program.

Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant
One of the collaborative works of art that Grant helped to create as with her long-time friend, Keanu Reeves. Subsequently, this put her work within the curiosity of the world. After working together, they formed a strong friendship. This is said to have started around the debut of their book in 2011. They shared a great bond, that eventually evolved into something a little more than friendship.
In 2019, they went from friends, to a romantic couple. Grant’s friend, Jennifer Tilly, who was 63 years old at the time opened up, and told Page Six about the time her friend told her who she was dating. “I remember a couple of years ago, about a year and a half ago, [Grant] said, ‘Keanu Reeves is my boyfriend.’ And, I’m like: ‘Wait. What?’ ” said Jennifer.
Reeves is notorious for keeping his love life out of the headlines. In short, he prefers to live a private life. However, in 2020, Vogue could not resist interviewing Grant. So, they asked her many questions about their relationship. They were curious to know how she reacted to the attention their relationship attracted once they became public about their commitment.
“I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that’s fascinating,” said Grant. “But, the question I’ve been asking in all of this is: ‘What is the opportunity for good?’ “
Will they get married?
Then, they asked her the question that everyone is dying to learn the answer to. They wanted to know whether or not she was open to marriage in the future. In short, Grant’s response was: “Over a glass of wine, I would love to tell you. Love at every level is deeply important to my identity. How’s that for dodging the question? I do not believe that isolation is the way. However, there is a period of isolation that I do as a painter,” she said. “But, I deeply value the experience of being in relationships.”
