Influencer Breaks Down In Tears As She Apologizes For Revealing She Owns Her House Outright At 21

After revealing that she had purchased a mortgage-free home at the age of 21, a TikTok influencer, Katylee Bailey, was compelled to apologize for “bragging.” In a video shared with her 2.8 million followers, Ms. Bailey popped a bottle of confetti to commemorate her first step onto the property ladder.

Her post, which was captioned “Biggest achievement of my life. Here’s to my new chapter,” received nearly four million views on the platform. However, some of her followers chastised her for their inability to make ends meet due to the cost-of-living crisis. It was prompting her to apologize.

One commenter stated. “And I can’t even afford to buy myself a dairy milk bar from the Co-op.” While another said, “Well done. But it’s crazy that people work, saving throughout their lives, and will probably work until they’re 70 to pay off the mortgage.

Another user said: “There’s me working my arse off every week fixing cars and could just act stupid in front of a camera to get a mortgage.” A fourth user commented: “So sad the people that work the least get this, and people putting their life on the line can barely afford heating.”

Subsequently, the 21-year-old influencer published a follow-up video in which she acknowledged the backlash. She additionally realized how fortunate she was.

In the clip, which has amassed almost four million views, she stated. “I wanted to apologize to anyone who feels like I’m flaunting my home purchase. I’m well aware that the system is completely messed up, and I’m still in disbelief at how fortunate I am.”

She also revealed that she didn’t come from a wealthy background and never imagined owning a home at her age. “But believe or not, as much as some of you guys don’t wanna understand this, I do actually work, and let me tell you something, social media is so mentally draining. I know there are many people out there who work their a***s off. I genuinely did just fall lucky with social media. And yes my family has given me an amazing life.”

But I didn’t get brought up with the money, so to be able to achieve such a big thing at 21 years old, I’m just so grateful. It’s not me bragging, it’s me being so proud of myself. I think if anyone else had the opportunity, they’d do it.” She added.
