There’s really any number of things for a person to be grateful about. Being grateful is more about the state of mind that you put yourself in. Your attitude can shape the world around you depending on your mood. One of the best ways to counteract negative feelings is learning how to be grateful. It may seem easier said than done, but once you start you wont want to stop. So what exactly do you have to be grateful for?

Be Grateful For Friends & Family

One of the biggest things anyone should be grateful for is their friends and family. These are people who love you for who you are and want nothing but the best for you. They are there in the darkest times of our lives and will do anything to help pick up the pieces. The power of love is a very significant tool if you know how to use it. Try to think of all the best moments you’ve had with some of your closest friends. All of those little details that make you happy. These old feelings carry a lot of weight but they are meant to help you to not lose hope.

In times of deep despair, being grateful for your family can be a very humbling emotion. Knowing that they are safe and that you still have them can make all the difference. Sure, they can maybe be annoying at times, but you still love them no matter what. They also love you and would do anything to make sure that you are living a happy life. Don’t let the despair consume your every thought. Be grateful that you still have people that deeply care about your well being.

Still Alive & Healthy

One of the bigger things that you can be grateful for is your overall health. Being in a healthy state of existence can also make all the difference. Maybe you’re going through a rut right now but at least you’ve still got your health. There’s also the fact that you’re still alive as well. There are so many less fortunate that do not have the ability to say the same about themselves. Even if your health has taken a turn, this too shall pass. Luckily, a lot of things about the human body can be temporary.

More importantly, being grateful for being alive is a very humbling feeling. The fact that you’re here now being able to read in your own comfort is something to be grateful for. Take all of the things that are happening to your right now for example. There are so many little things that can make your day a great day. It all depends on your perspective and what your state of mind is like. We often take the present moment for granted and it’s something we should absolutely be grateful for.
