Couple’s Dream Tiny House Combines Coziness With Urban Chic

There is a probability that not every couple would be able to afford a mansion to live in. Some of us only have the means to procure a tiny house to shelter us. And since inflation and cost of living have risen to such an extent, tiny homes have evolved by leaps and bounds. Previously they were a DIY project for people who added a vaguely rustic charm. Now, such houses represent a range of budgets, tastes, and uses. So they can range all the way from ultra-modern to dedicated movie lofts for movie buffs. Some houses also have retractable sunroofs, while others are created as mobile education centers.

Needless to say, there is a huge dearth of innovation and experimentation in tiny houses- and Tru From Tiny, an Oregon-based company, is about to fill in that dearth. This company is known for creating thoughtfully designed, RVIA-certified tiny homes. The company creates homes all the way from tiny houses for those who have a generating passive income to those who live in larger versions made for permanent living.

Tiny Houses Seem To Be The Main Residence In The Future

Recently, the company unveiled a new creation– a 28-foot urban version of their old Kootenay model. This tiny home has been created for a couple that lives in Washington, and this tiny house eschews all the typical shiplap exterior siding for something that can be seen as more progressive.

The company’s official statement mentioned that the couple had decided to order a tiny house after they managed to secure a parking spot nearby. They had also been placed on a waitlist for over a year and a half, and it was thought that they would not be able to materialize their dream. But as luck would have it, they did check another website that advertised a vacancy in another community, and they took it on the spot itself. The same community also had another member who had hired Tru Form Tiny to create their house- so it did inspire the couple to move on the same route.

The new tiny house that the couple ordered measures just 28 feet, and also features gorgeous blue-green exterior metal paneling with certain cedar wood accents. They also have an awning over the front door which is created in an extremely minimalistic manner- and further held up by cable supports.

The interior boasts deep colors like the Sherwin Williams’ Gale Force- which definitely contrasts well with the warmth provided by the cedar planking on the ceiling. The entire atmosphere is quite homely and welcoming. The galley kitchen is the main attraction in the house and it’s completely equipped with modern and luxurious touches like the butcher block countertops which also have a fold-up extension. The kitchen also has a pull-down faucet over a farmhouse sink and gets lighting from glass globe lights.

To properly utilize the space provided, as well as make sure there is space for other necessities, the clients opted for a full-size refrigerator but a compact drawer-sized dishwasher. The living room of the tiny house is quite cozy- and that is directly the result of the upholstered seating area. This area is tucked just over the bump-out of the home. Of course, storage has been created underneath it to make the most out of every inch they have at their disposal.

The living room also has a set of slim cabinets just to the side- which could be used to store items like shoes. Above the living room is the secondary loft, where a guest bed is attached. This is accessible with a removable ladder. The company has also used an electric fireplace as a substitute for a wood stove. This is quite a comfortable and elegant tiny house that the couple will definitely be enjoying for quite some time- unless they want to move to a bigger place. As it stands, there has been no final price mentioned on this particular build, but the Kootenay model comes at a price of $102,900.
