The story of the three bears is quite well-known; but what are you going to do if you see a living rendition of it? This is what happened to Chad Morris and his family when they went on a trip to Tennessee. They had hoped to enjoy life in the wild, as it should be enjoyed. Cabin in the Woods, and the Hollywood drama- one could say. But imagine their shock when they came across a different species of automobile thieves. You know the ones that might look cute but could rip you to shreds if they wanted? Those car thieves.

What could Chad Morris do in this situation? The owner of a barbershop certainly had no idea about dealing with bears. And at the same time, a couple more cubs approached his vehicle. In fact, one of them climbed straight through the driver’s window. Of course, this took place in 2019, so the bears weren’t too cautious about COVID protocols.
Morris took to Facebook to share his thoughts, and let’s just say- he shared it exactly as he thought it. “Is this real life… tell me we are being punked… 3 bear clubs in my car and the momma just lurking.” Ironically, Morris had told his friends that he wanted to go to Gatlinburg just to see bears. Needless to say, he did see them- maybe he saw them a bit too close for comfort.
The bear cubs, on the other hand, were having the time of their lives. They were rolling around the car and checking it out. If only car dealers had bears as customers, they would be making a killing in sales. They also investigated the rear end of the vehicle, put their heads through the window, and also made themselves comfortable.
Who’s to say the bears weren’t just asking Morris for his car? Morris did swear in his interview with ABC 6 WATE that, “This won’t happen again. It’s like I want to be reminded every time I get in this car that a bear was in here trying to drive my car.”

A Car And A Dream
Fortunately, Chad did have enough sense in him to not scare away potential car connoisseurs. He knew getting close to the bears could be very dangerous. Nevertheless, the bears did go on their own merry way- as reported by NBC 14 News. Morris stated that although one of the bears had ripped out a part of the seat, there were no injuries to anyone around.
The momma bear kept a close watch- monitoring her children as they began their life as car thieves. But we don’t judge anyone for their proclivities- so we would refer to them as admirers of fast cars. After all, you wouldn’t deprive them of watching Lewis Hamilton win another F1, would you?
Incidentally, these ones couldn’t do the same with the other car. Maybe they didn’t have the correct tools at their disposal, or maybe the car was a bit too distasteful, the omnivores left it alone. As it stands, the omnivores around Gatlinburg aren’t known for being introverts.
There have been cases where a bear decided to cool off the summer months by taking a dip in someone’s hot tub. In another situation, a bear had a craving for pizza- which resulted in them stealing it. Another bear wanted the millionaire life- sneaking into Margaritaville Resort.
Our idea- give the bears employment. If the bears had a regular income, they wouldn’t be as willing to jack cars along the highway. Who knows, you might also come across a couple of bears sharing a pizza at a New York pizza parlor?
For now, though, there are several pieces of information on how to deal with these animals at Gatlinburg. If you are around the area and come across this animal, remember to not get within 50 yards. But in case you do want to take a selfie with the black bears around, make sure you know how to deal with it. Or it may be the last selfie you ever take.
