Shipping Container Pools Are The New Hottest Trend and I Want One

It doesn’t really bother me, but I’ve never actually dipped into a public swimming pool before. I may hang out at the bar or in the shade, but never in the pool. I’m a self-acclaimed level-10 germophobe. Whereas public pools could be fun and refreshing, overthinkers like me would think “pool” and follow it up with “disgusting.” There isn’t much that would convince me to go in one unless of course, it was my very own. That’s where these awesome shipping container pools come in.

You see, if you decide to get your own pool at home, you’d spend a fortune on excavation, plastering, tiling, installation, and accessorizing. After those, you may then proceed to worry about the costs of refreshing and maintaining an in-ground pool. Stock tank pools and other versions of raised pools are great ideas as well, but how many of them are as classy as aquarium-style pools?

Your front-yard show-glass pool

Modpools, a Canada-based pool manufacturer has brought a little bit of elegant creativity into the above-ground market: shipping container pools. Shipping containers are literally the last thing anyone would imagine a pool would be made out of, but in reality, the design is amazing.

Modpools recently patented a high-tech, economical swimming pool from shipping containers fitted with a thick window on one side, giving it the appearance of a large fish tank when viewed from the glass-corner [1]. The shipping container pool’s cost can vary depending on the pool’s size. They can be 12, 20, and 40 feet. You can check their website out if you’re looking for a quote.

Specifications

The pools are designed with LED lights and strong cartridge filter systems to keep the water fresh and clean. Excluding the 12-foot pool, the others come with a 400,000 BTU heater and hot tub divider wall. The divider is a “light-weight, honeycomb acrylic wall”, as described on the company’s website. This way, you can demarcate the pool into two sections if someone wants the Jacuzzi mode at the same time someone else wants a cooler dip. This feature is not available in the 12-foot pool due to limited space.

All the pools can be controlled with a wireless control screen logic app that can even be enabled on a smartphone. Talk about ultra-modern. The 20 and 40 feet pools have 8 body jets for the spa mode and standard-stepped spa seating arrangements.

What’s not to love? If you’ve ever envied goldfish at an aquarium (it’s weird, but I certainly have), Modpools can make you feel like one of them. These pools are lovely, affordable, and can be installed in less than half an hour. Upon the arrival of the disassembled pool parts, the company recommends that only a qualified electrician should be hired to set the pool up to prevent faulty connections or a glitch-ridden installation.

So what do you say, is a shipping container pool in your future?
