See Johnny Depp’s $19 Million Hollywood Castle Where an Intruder Once Took a Shower & Made a Drink

American actor and musician Johnny Depp owns multiple luxury properties. His most famous one is his $19 million Hollywood Hills Mansion. This home is a three-story, 7500-square-foot castle with four acres of land and seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Most notably, it features turrets, towers, and battlements. The estate matches the actor’s fame for eclectic and often eccentric film roles.

Meanwhile, Depp purchased the six surrounding houses and planted many trees around his home to protect his privacy. There are also security cameras and “no trespassing signs” but that didn’t stop an intruder from making himself at home.

The Intruder Makes a Drink and Takes a Shower

In March 2021, a neighbor spotted a homeless man hanging around the pool in Depp’s backyard. When the neighbor confronted him, the man bolted and jumped over a gate, heading toward Johnny’s estate. The neighbor called the police, who also received a call from Depp’s security team, saying there was an intruder in his house.

When the police officers arrived, they found the man taking a shower in one of the bathrooms. When asked to exit the room, he refused. So the cops kicked down the door and arrested him. They also found that the man had made himself a drink from Depp’s supply of alcohol. He got booked for felony vandalism for a damaged door found in the home. [1]

Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first intruder in Depp’s home in 2021. That January, a woman, possibly homeless, broke into his castle, triggering the security system that called the police. The woman, possibly scared by the alarm, ran off but the cops found her near the scene of the crime. They also connected to a different burglary. Fortunately, Depp wasn’t home at the time of the break-in

Johnny Depp’s Stunning Property Portfolio

Johnny Depp is a renowned actor today but he had humble origins. At age 16, he dropped out of high school to pursue music. He didn’t find success as an actor until he was 21 when he made his film debut in A Nightmare on Elm Street. His big break came in 1987 with the TV show 21 Jump Street, where Depp plays a young undercover cop. Afterward, he appeared in  Cry-Baby and Edward Scissorhands, which demonstrated the actor’s range. However, Depp has become most well-known for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the high-grossing Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. In fact, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl garnered Depp’s first Academy Award nomination. [3]

With all of his success, the actor lives a lavish lifestyle, including a property portfolio of fourteen properties. Over the years, he had sold, bought, and restored these estates that cost him over $75 million. Among these include five penthouses in the same building in downtown Los Angeles.

Then there’s the abandoned French village with a private residence, multiple cottages, a little bistro, a skate park, and a wine cave. Depp spent millions of dollars to restore the 19th-century buildings. He visited the property with his ex-wife Vanessa Paradis and their two children, Lily-Rose Depp and Jack Depp, before putting it on the market for $63 million. However, the estate did not sell, returning to the market in 2021 with a reduced $55.5 million sale.

Johnny Depp’s other estates include a 41-acre horse farm outside Lexington, Kentuck for $950,000. This he bought in 1995 for his mother. The main house has six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms; then there’s the manager’s quarters, a guest house, two horse barns, and a swimming pool.

In 2003, Depp bought an island called The Little Halls Ponds Cay in the Bahamas. He created an eco-friendly, ranch-style home with a 360-degree scenic view. The island also serves as a protected area for wildlife. [4]

Meanwhile, the Hollywood Hills house has become Depp’s primary residence. You can seen an in-depth video on it below.

In January 2017, Johnny Depp filed a $25 million lawsuit against his ex-business managers. He accused them of fraud and mismanagement that cost him millions. His managers filed a countersuit and blamed the missing money on the actor’s “extravagant and extreme” lifestyle. His business managers, Joel and Robert Mandel of The Management Group, said Depp made $650 million during the decade they worked together, but he had spent the money on properties, a yacht, and staff to upkeep these estates. Although the lawsuit was settled, the details were not released although a spokesperson said the actor  was “pleased” without how things turned out. [5]
