Laila Morse, Gary Oldman’s sister, was borne in Dorking, Surrey on August 1, 1945. She was originally known as Maureen Oldman, but she later created Laila as he stage presence. She had been on TV before Eastender, with her first role being a few episodes of The Bill. Additionally, Laila Morse has appeared a number of times on reality TV. Shows like Celebrity Master Chef, Dancing on Ice, and I’m a Celebrity welcomed her on screen.

Then, in 2000 Laila Morse was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the time she was working on Eastenders as Big Mo. Her co-star, Wendy Richard, had urged her to get herself checked at the doctor. However, Wendy died from the same disease after a 14-year battle. Fortunately, Laila’s breast cancer was treatable and she overcame the disease. she paid tribute to her friend, whom she praises for saving her life, by doing a dance routine in the ITV extravaganza, at the Empress Ballroom at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.

In 1962, Laila married Gerald Bromfield. They had two children, Gerry, and Tracy Bromfield. Gerald was part of the Deptford Mob, which was notorious for robberies. after he served 14 months in prison for theft in 19070, Laila divorced him. Then, in 1995 Gary Oldman’s sister met Jim Bass, and the two were wed. Then, in 2001, she got divorced again. She even wrote in her memoir that she had never really loved Jim.
