Lexi Reed Was Determined

The heroine of this story is a powerful woman named Lexi Reed, from Indiana in the United States. Lexi was once a woman who did not care much for a healthy lifestyle, but she realized one day that enough was enough, so she made some major lifestyle changes that improved her health ten-fold, not to mention facilitated a transformational amount of weight loss.

Women’s Health Magazine heard wind of her success, and they had an interview with her.  She was eating nearly 6000 calories each day. So, this caused detrimental weight gain that was debilitating, to say the least. She weight 485 pounds thanks to a diet that consisted of fried food and takeout. She and her husband shared a dislike in vegetables, and they rarely spent an evening cooking a meal at home. “Cooking at home was never the norm, and neither were vegetables. I was eating out multiple times a day, and because I loved anything fried, it was usually greasy fast food.”

Luckily for Lexi, her husband is very supportive of her journey. She even managed to rope him into joining her workouts. Eventually, he was eating her healthy food as well. They inspired each other and reminded each other of their goals each time they were not in the mood. The motivation they shared was that they wanted to be parents, and losing eight and becoming more fit would help that become possible.

“We also want to be parents, so that really motivated us on the days where we didn’t feel like working out, was to have a future family,” said Lexi.

Her Determination Paid Off!

Weight loss might not be the easiest thing to achieve, and it’s often a slow process. Many people can’t help but give up because there is no instant gratification. Lexi Reed managed to lose over  300 pounds! And she and her husband lost 400 pounds combined- that is a serious achievement, and her fans agreed. Since Lexi started posting her journey, she gained over 1million followers. This was a shock to both Lexi and her  Husband who thought no one would be interested in their  journey. She said: “I thought maybe I’d have 10 Instagram followers. I started it because I didn’t want to annoy all of my Facebook friends with my posts.”

Once her page started to grow in followers, she realized the impact that her success had in so many people around the world.

“It’s crazy. I didn’t expect to be noticed,” she admitted. “But it’s been really cool for Danny and I to be able to share our story. If we can help inspire somebody that’s what we want to do. We’re just small-town Indiana people going with the flow.” She made it her mission to inspire those who want to live a healthy lifestyle. “I feel responsible for a million people on the internet daily.” Said Lexi.

Lexi Posts to Inspire

Her posts are centred around body positivity and maintaining motivation with a healthy approach. In a recent post, she said: “I didn’t feel as small or confident as I did the last time that I was there or that I was on the beach but I refuse to cover this body or let that hold me back. All bodies are beach bodies!”

When asked, Lexi’s message for everyone is that: “It’s not about the weight you lose, it’s about the life you gain.. Which shows that this was not something to soothe her ego, but rather to live a happier, more active, and more involved life!

Update: 2022

Since Lexi began her weight loss journey she has inpsired so many. It comes as sad news to hear the Lexi has beomce ill with what was described as a “mystery illness.” In February of this year, Lexi’s husband Danny Reed shared a shocking photo of his wife in the hospital.

In the caption he wrote, “A few weeks ago Lexi kept getting sick and couldn’t keep any food down. She then started acting differently so I took her to the hospital where they admitted her into ICU, placed on a medically induced coma, on a ventilator, and me that her organs started failing.”

Lexi has since recovered, but is on dialyis and they are still unsure what is causing her condition. Unfotunately they do not have insurance, but have set up a GoFundMe to help cover the medical expenses. We wish Lexi and her husband the best and hope she gets well soon.
