I remember dreaming about having a newborn photoshoot for my little boy before he was born. And on the day of the shoot, not everything quite went to plan! It was quite a mess, to be honest. For this newborn baby and his family, not everything went to plan either. But, when you see the photos, you’ll see it was definitely a good thing!
A new baby and a dog
This family knew from the get-go that their dog, Bentley, and their newborn baby would be the best of friends.
In a recent interview, Kelly Madsen told The Dodo that they made every effort to make sure their first child, the dog, Bentley, was a happy pooch.
“At the hospital, we wrapped our baby in a blanket then passed [the blanket] on to my parents who had Bentley to let him sniff and get familiar with his scent. When we finally brought our baby home, we kept him in his car seat, and Bentley ran right over to sniff him and wag his tail excitedly. Bentley has been very, very gentle with him and seems to understand already that he is part of our pack.”

Kelly goes on to say that Bentley now takes his role as big brother very seriously! When the baby cries, Bentley leaps into action to alert the family. Apparently, Bentley also gets rather upset when the new baby is put into his bassinet for a nap, all because he can’t see the baby properly!
In other words, Bentley is always there. He’s his new little human brother’s best friend and proud protector!
The day came when Kelly wanted to have a newborn photoshoot for her new baby. And, of course, Bentley wasn’t going to miss out on the fun!

Adorable newborn photoshoot gone right
While Bentley was not actually supposed to be in the photos, he could not contain himself while the newborn photoshoot was taking place. However, judging by the adorable photographs, we’re glad!
“I love the pictures; it’s incredible to see the bond between our two kids, even if one is a little bit furrier than the other. Bentley was our first child, and it warms my heart to see how welcoming and loving he is with him!”
