Question 6:

You see me once in June, twice in November, and not at all in May. What am I?

Answers:

1. The first answer is: 21 – 3 – 18 + 6 = 6. An easy way to solve this is by trying to get the sum of the first 3 numbers to 0. That way you will only be left with 6, which is what we need.

2. It’s a key!

3. Both have the same weight – a ton. Did it trick you into saying the bricks are heavier?

4. The people traveling in the car are a grandfather, a father, and the father’s son. So the 2 fathers are the grandfather and the father. The 2 sons are the father and the son.

5. The code is 205. To solve this one, we need to start with the third row. According to the third row’s instructions 6, 3, and 1 do not feature in the final code.

6. The letter ‘e’

So we are left with the numbers 2, 5, and 0. Then, according to the 1st row, between 2, 1, and 6, only 2 is correct. It is also in the correct position. So the first digit of the code is 2. That leaves us with figuring out the order of 5 and 0.

In the 2nd row, we can see that 5 is correct but it is in the wrong position. 5 cannot be the first digit because we already know 2 is there. It cannot be the 2nd digit because the instructions say 2 digits are correct, but both are in the wrong position. So it must be the 3rd digit.

That leaves us with 0, which then must be the 2nd digit. So we have 205.
